Living Your Dreams In Today's Economy
Got some ideas about how to save money? Post them here and we will share them with those who attend our upcoming programs in Cave Creek, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and Fountain Hills. Just because there are jitters in the economy, doesn't mean that you can't reach your goals - what it does mean is that you need to make some adjustments, get creative, and re-think how to get where you are going. I have posted a few of my own favorite ideas here.

House and car exchanges are a great way to travel - and save money at the same time. You can often exchange both houses and cars, making your out of pocket expenses minimal. Most house exchangers are professionals and are as interested in leaving your house spotless as you are in taking care of theirs. Plus - you get to meet neighbors, stay in a whole house and not just a teeny tiny hotel room, have lots of privacy (especially nice if you are traveling with kids) and get lots of suggestions from your host family about the best places to go and the ones to avoid.
ReplyDeleteI have a great dentist who practices in Nogales, Mexico. His name is Dr. Victor Bojorquez, 520 399-8970 OR 520 270-9532.
ReplyDeleteI can't say enough good things about him - office is spotless, filled with Americans, many of them coming from Green Valley and Tucson. His demeanor is very kind and gentle, he speaks good English, he has great communication skills and he is very considerate.
I particularly appreciate that he gives patients options rather than suggesting the most expensive alternative. In one case, I was told by my US dentist after breaking off a crown that I would need an implant to the tune of $6,000. Dr. Bojorquez gave me the option of having a root canal, putting a post in and cementing in the crown I had. Cost? Around $150.
The estimate from my US dentist for for all work that needed to be done was $15,000. I got it done for $1,500 instead. I park on the US side and walk the three blocks to the dentist's office.
Dr. Bojorquez's wife is also a dentist and does cleanings, whitenings, etc. Dr. Bojorquez also recommends Dr. Gabriel Tardaguila who I saw for a bit of periodontal work. He is also excellent and I have nothing but good things to say about his work. He works in the same building, and so it is very convenient.
I have been going to Classic Beauty College at 3227 E. Bell Rd. for over 10 years. The cost of haircuts and color (both men and women) are at least half or more than what you pay at a salon. I've never had a bad experience because the hair stylists are highly trained before they are allowed to work "on the floor." Their number is 602-992-2282.
